How many levels does the Spanair Plus programme have?
The programme currently has 3 levels (BLUE, SILVER and GOLD), each providing members with benefits and privileges as per their level.
The "STAR Points" determine members' upgrade on being accrued on flights made with a Star Alliance member company. These points giving each member the option of maintaining or upgrading their level based on the accrual during a consecutive 12 months.
Benefits per level
Blue members can accrue and redeem points flying with Spanair or any other Star Alliance airline member and contracting services with Programme associated companies.
Silver members enjoy exclusive additional advantages to those of Blue, like check-in at Business / Avant Class desks, additional luggage allowance of 20 kgs, access to Spanair VIP lounged on Spanair operated flight routes, waitlist priority on Spanair or any Star Alliance airline flights, 10% extra points bonus per Spanair flight and 30% credit to point balance with a maximum of 3,000 points (only for flight redemptions).
Gold members enjoy exclusive advantages besides those of Silver on the Star Alliance global network. They can check-in at Star Gold desks, additional luggage allows of 20 kgs, access to over 660 VIP lounges with guest regardless of class booked provided he/she flies with Star airline, waitlist priority on Spanair or any Star Alliance airline flights, option of requesting a Spanair Plus Silver card for a companion (available only to Gold members by own merits), luggage pick-up priority on any Star Alliance airline, 15% extra point bonus on each Spanair flight, free access to VIP, meeting lounge in Madrid T2, access to Spanair hired lounges flying Spanair operated routes and 30% credit to point balance, maximum 5,000 points (only for flight redemptions).
GOLD members VIP lounge access
Gold members can access over 660 VIP Star Alliance lounges with a guest regardless of class booked provided he/she flies with Star Alliance airline (guest must have a Star Alliance flight ticket with departure same day not necessarily same flight as Gold member).
