RESIDENT'S DISCOUNT

Information for Residents

Pursuant to Royal Decree, the Resident's discount of 50% shall be applied to flights to and from the Balearic or Canary Islands (national flights only). These discounts will be applicable to Spanish citizens and citizens of other Member States of the European Union and the European Economic Area (Norway, Switzerland, Iceland and Liechtenstein), who are able to attest to their status as residents of the Balearic or Canary Islands or Ceuta. As of 01 May, the resident's discount has been extended to include citizens of Cyprus, Slovenia, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic residing in the Balearic or Canary Islands.

Residency can be attested by presenting:

1. DNI (Spanish National Identity Card) or a photocopy of DNI (certified before a notary public).

2. Residency certificate issued by the relevant Local Authority must be submitted by the following persons:

  • Residents whose DNI does not indicate the address on the Canary or Balearic Islands or the city of Ceuta.
  • Children (under 14 years) without own DNI.

3. Registration certificate (Certificado de Registro) issued by the Central Register for Foreigners (Registro Central de     Extranjeros) for citizens of the European Union and  the European Economic Area, accompanied by a valid passport or national     ID.

Remember: The former NIE card is not a valid document for the resident's discount. You need the new Registration certificate (Certificado de Registro) to benefit from the discount.

PLEASE ENTER YOUR DNI OR CERTIFICATE NUMBER WITHOUT SPACES HYPHENS OR BARS.

Important:

1. All passengers included in one reservation need to be eligible for the Resident's discount. If any of the passengers does not have the right of the Resident's Discount, their reservations must be made separately.

2. Presentation of the Residency certificate is compulsory if the DNI does not indicate the current address in the Balearic or Canary Islands or the city of Ceuta (both documents must be valid on the flight's departure date) or for children without own national ID. In the last case the DNI or passport of the legal guardian is also required.

3. It is a compulsory and essential requirement to submit the before mentioned documentation during the reservation process in order for residency to be attested when the ticket is collected, as well as during Check-in prior to boarding. The passengers who can not attest their residency will not be able to use their ticket and should therefore buy a new one with the actual tariff. The original ticket will be refunded if the class conditions allow it. This refund will be done through the same channel as you used when you bought the ticket (spanair.com, telephone sale or travel agency) and with the same payment method.

Note: The service fees are not refundable.

4. Residents shall also benefit from a 50% discount on ticket-issuing charges. This discount will be included throughout the reservation process. If you decide to collect your ticket from a travel agency, the agency will be freely entitled to set its own set of charges for issuing tickets reserved and purchased through spanair.com.

5. Spanair will not apply any Resident's discount once a flight has departed.
