Spanair announces the appointment of Sergio Allard Barroso as Chief Commercial Officer.

Sergio Allard Barroso, who was born in Mexico in 1963, will take up the post in July. He will direct the company’s global sales strategy, and will manage the Business and Leisure Network Units, Direct Sales, as well as Corporate and Complementary Sales via traditional channels (domestic and international), E-commerce, Operational Marketing and the Loyalty Programme, as well as Network Planning, Aircraft Capacity Management, Air Cargo, Commercial Alliances, and Revenue and Pricing Management.
Sergio Allard has great professional prestige within international commercial aviation. He joins Spanair from his current post as Chief Commercial Officer at Mexicana aviation, having previously held a range of managerial and board positions in strategic and sales planning, including Commercial Vice-president for Mexico and Latin America, Sales Director for Mexico and Latin America, and Sales Planning Manager.

Sergio Allard graduated from the Faculty of Science at the National Autonomous University of Mexico, and holds a Master’s Degree in Economic and Financial Engineering from La Salle University, Mexico, and a Degree in Strategic Business Administration from the Autonomous Institute of Technology, Mexico.
Spanair was founded in 1986 and offers more than 600 daily flights, operated with a fleet of 64 aircraft and in code share with its partners, to 241 destinations. Since April 2003, Spanair is a member of Star Alliance, the largest and most prestigious airline network in the world.
